Youtube videos
Search youtube at home.
Once you find a video, open a 2nd tab on your browser.
Copy and paste the youtube video's web address/URL and paste it in the next tab.
Highlight www and the dot (www.) and replace it with the word: kick. This will open the youtube video in kickyoutube.com.
Highlight the MP4 video format.
At the end of the row, right click and select save target as. It will allow you to download and save the youtube video in the format needed for the ipod.
Teachertube videos
Sign in to Teachertube. Search Teachertube. Download the video (flv/flash video format).
Open web browser and go to zamzar.com.
Browse for file and upload.
Select mp4 as the file type.
Enter your e-mail address and click on convert.
You will get an e-mail shortly. You must click on the link and download the video within 24 hours.
How can I make my own content?
SMART Recorder
Make sure you create a title page of your topic. Suggest using a background color and a contrasting pen.
Open SMART page. Attach microphone to your laptop (each team has at least 1 Logitech microphone).
Click on SMART tools icon and select Recorder.
Minimize Recorder. Select the full screen icon from the SMART toolbar.
Press F8 to start recording. It will record all audio and any board writing/movement,
Press F8 to stop recording.
Convert video to an mp4 to load into itunes.
Make Flash cards in PPT
Create PPT slides - large print and document all images.
File - Save as JPG to the T drive> TIS Resources>Ipod Content.Flash Cards folder.
Select Every Slide option.
This will create a folder of the images within the flash cards folder.
Right click on the images and Rename slides 1-9 to slide001, slide 002, etc…..
If you have over 100 pictures in that folder, rename 10-99 to slide010, slide011, slide099, etc…
Plug in your ipod and open itunes.
Click on the Pictures Tab of your ipod in itunes. Browse to find flash cards folder. Put a check by your new folder of images and sync. Repeat for each ipod.
Convert Flip video
Record a video using the flip video camera. Copy and paste from the camera to your computer. Convert to an mp4 video.
Convert Photostory
Create a photostory. Save as a movie file. Convert to an mp4 video.
